Hello! My name is Dr. Josephine Kubat. My goal and passion is to help animals and humans live healthier, happier lives through improved movement and nervous system function.
Growing up in a small rural town in southern Minnesota, I was surrounded by animals from an early age. I spent much of my childhood caring for dogs, visiting my uncle’s horses, and developing a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond. At age 12, I began working as a grooming technician in my mother’s grooming business, and by age 16, I was employed at a dog boarding and daycare facility where I received extensive training in canine behavior and handling.
I attended the University of Missouri (Mizzou) in Columbia, Missouri, for my undergraduate studies while gaining valuable hands-on animal experience. During this time, I worked at a swine research facility and later joined Woof’s Play & Stay, progressing from groom technician and daycare facilitator to a supervisory role. I also volunteered at a therapeutic riding facility, further expanding my experience with equine care.
After moving to Kansas City to pursue my Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Cleveland University-Kansas City, I transferred to a local Woof’s Play & Stay facility and continued working with animals throughout my education. As my chiropractic studies intensified, I transitioned to KC Dawgz Training Academy, where I assisted with the handling of human-aggressive dogs.
During my final year of chiropractic school, I began advanced training in animal chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, Texas. Today, I am certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) and am dedicated to helping animals achieve optimal nervous system function and mobility through chiropractic care.
I currently reside in Leavenworth with my two dogs, one cat, and partner. When I’m not caring for patients, I enjoy reading, hiking, training with my dogs, and spending time outdoors. I am grateful to combine my lifelong passion for animals with my chiropractic education and look forward to helping animals live their healthiest, most active lives.
